Niki Orfanou is a Greek-born writer based in London. 

She holds a PhD in dramatic writing from Roehampton University in London, following studies in philosophy, psychology, politics, playwriting and theatre at universities across Greece and the UK. She’s also studied screenwriting at the National School of Film and TV (NFTS), poetry (Poetry School, CityLit) and Faber's Academy flagship course 'Writing A Novel'. Her background includes over ten years of arts journalism.

Her plays have been staged in the UK as well as Germany, France, Greece. Her work (plays & fiction) have won/ been shortlisted in prestigious competitions like the Palmarès des Journées de Lyon des Auteurs de Théâtre (France), Scriptspace (Tobacco Theatres Bristol), Athens System (Greece), Verity Bargate Awards (Soho Theatre London), Prix des Libraires du Quebec (Canada), the Screenwriting Challenge NYC (USA).

She also offers private mentoring and developmental editing services and teaches writing workshops.
